Your account and a tour of the app

One free account, five tabs. Here is what lives where, so the first week is not a hunt.

1. Create the account

Go to app.cowstail.app/signup or install the app from the App Store or Google Play. Email and password, or continue with Google or Apple. No card, and the Solo plan stays free.

2. Home

The day's three shortcuts sit at the top: Make an invoice (same client and rate as last time), Log today's hours, and Scan a ticket or receipt. Under them, what needs attention: a LOLER inspection due, an invoice overdue, a ticket about to expire. Under that, the tax year so far.

3. The tabs

• Jobs: the board of open work scored against your tickets, your schedule and your applications.
• Invoices: every invoice and quote, with paid, waiting and overdue totals on top.
• Money: income, expenses, estimated profit and CIS deducted, per UK tax year.
• Kit: your kit register with every LOLER date, in date, due soon or overdue.

4. Turn on notifications

Home asks once. Say yes and the app pings you when a booking lands, a client pays or a ticket is about to expire, and the moment a job fits you.
